By the time things were settled, it was late, and I still needed to walk. But it was great to leave the chaos in the house and walk out into the cool, evening air. There was venting, there were tears, and there was a long stretch where nothing was said. Of course, walking didn't do anything to resolve a fight with my kid, but it shifted what was happening inside of me — softened me.
So, besides the regular benefits of walking, today's walking rewards included some sanity. Another beautiful part of this daily practice.
