Wait. Think about that. Food has become something that you feel guilty about. Exercise the punishment.
What does that mean about how you feel about your body? Hmmm. Good question.
But what to do about it? How to reframe both food and movement? How about this. Move your body in whatever ways make you feel good. If that means go for a run — then go for a run. Swim if you like to, do yoga, go for a walk, spend time in the garden. Just move. And then, when you feel hungry, eat. Eat good food. Healthy, real food, made from real ingredients. Make movement joyful. Make eating joyful.
While we were on the walk, we decided to move in joyful ways. As we walked past an empty playground we stopped and played. I hung upside down on bars, and climbed like a monkey. My daughter climbed on the play structures and slid down slides.
And when we got home, we had a snack. :)
