I don't usually like to go out in the rain. It's cold, and the damp gets under my skin. But I've been thinking about being more animalistic in my life. We're animals, but we live in a zoo, removed from our "natural" habitat. We don't have to adapt to the outdoors — shoes, clothes, homes, cars. Now, I'm not suggesting that we go live in the woods in the buff, but going out in less comfortable weather and working to acclimatize to the changing seasons is good for the body. Try it — go for a walk in the rain. You won't melt (unless you're a certain green witch).
We had a nice walk, a nice mother-daughter visit, including some singing in the rain. And, although I was wet when we got home, I will certainly look forward to the next walk in the rain.
