It was a different type of movement than I'm used to, but it was interesting to notice how it felt different under my feet. Watching where I was landing quite carefully (I can feel every stone through my shoes), as I ran down Milkmen's Lane, allowing gravity to pull me down the hill, my feet catching me as I flew. It was an experiment in freedom of movement at times.
And it was interesting to work on keeping the breath through my nose. I haven't blogged about breath yet, and I'm sure I will another day, but I've been intentionally working on only breathing through my nose, and it was challenging to sustain that as I felt my heart rate increase, and my lungs working harder to keep up with the demands I was putting on my body. It felt good to push my body for more.
The air was cool, and the sun was warm, and I enjoyed every moment of this today, every sensation, internally and externally. More and more I'm looking forward to the next day's 5k.
