Yoga has long been lauded for its ability to increase flexibility in practitioners. But did you know that it does so much more than that? New studies continue to be done that show there are many more benefits than just increased flexibility.
According to studies (click for links), yoga improves lung capacity, improves sense of balance, increases bone density, levels blood sugar in diabetics, lowers risk of heart disease, lowers blood pressure, treats chronic neck pain, improves sexual function, and can even alter gene expression in immune cells!
Not only that, but brain function increases, stress levels go down, depression and anxiety are helped, and PTSD can be calmed.
